church which dates from 1836, and replaced an earlier church of 1731/2 near Ardchattan Priory. The priory was a
Valliscaulian foundation dating from 1230, which was later converted to secular use before

identification of this church is not 100% certain. Auborn on the card,
the description of Aubourn church in Pevsner fits with the card (broach spire),
and the
plan here is consistent too. Assuming this is St. Peter, Pevsner says it has
been partly demolished since declared redundant in 1973. From an old postcard
